When planning a trip to the Winter Olympics, I spent weeks browsing hostels, hotels, airbnbs, and guest houses in the Olympic cities of Pyeongchang and Gangneung.

Almost all of the accommodations I came across had one thing in common - they cost a lot for a little... all except one - the cutest, coziest little beach loft.

Halong ginger homestay

If you're planning a stay in mainland HaLong before heading to the bay for a cruise, this is the perfect little home away from home.

With several room types to choose from, you'll surely find something to suit your travel style and budget.

Glory Legend Cruise

Waking up on a junk boat amidst the limestone cliffs of Ha Long Bay has been at the top of my bucket list since, well... since the first time I saw a photo of the limestone cliffs of Ha Long Bay.

When planning my trip to Vietnam, experiencing this was my number one priority... and let's just say it did not disappoint.

vietnam backpackers hostel

Looking for a safe & affordable place to stay in Hoi An? Look no further than Vietnam Backpackers Hostel.

This hostel is only about a year old, but a central location and modern amenities aren't its only great qualities... it's also a great time.

L'étoile de Mer

A night in this spacey (but not spacious) pod cost me just a little bit more than it would have to bunk up in a crowded hostel room.

My advice: For more privacy, and a cooler overall experience, skip the hostel bunk and splurge a bit on this futuristic pod hotel, conveniently located in Causeway Bay.

Traders hotel

Kuala Lumpur was the last stop on my back packing trip around Asia... and I guess you could say I decided to go out with a bit of a bang.

With great amenities, a central location, and (given it's proximity to, and incredible view of, the Petronas Towers) a great price, this hotel was a no brainer.

puri pai villa

Down a twisting, winding, Thai mountain road, you'll find this cozy, but modern, little villa.

With killer views and amenities like free airport transfer, an infinity pool, fitness center, city shuttle, and free breakfast, this is the perfect base for your visit to Pai.

Double Tree by Hilton Penang

With its numerous amenities... including a great location, affordable price, all you can eat breakfast buffet, and a shuttle in to George Town... making this resort your home base in Penang is a no brainer.

The entire property, from the reception to the bedrooms, is absolutely beautiful. Speaking of bedrooms, I had the most comfortable nights sleep I've had in ages in our room's heavenly king-sized bed... But the perks of this resort definitely don't stop there...

Pavillon d'Orient Boutique-Hotel

When I arrived in Siem Reap, I was hit with the biggest wave of travel burnout. As luck would have it, Cambodia was also about to rock my world.

This hotel was a little piece of paradise. As if the beautiful property and delicious food weren't enough, the staff was also helpful, friendly, and ensured I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Siem Reap.

Firefly Villa

Looking for a quiet escape in the lush, magical city of Ubud? Want to wake up in an eco-treehouse or bamboo cottage?

Down a winding path in the rice fields of Ubud is a cozy, dreamy, spot where you can do both... a secluded spot that you won't find on GoogleMaps.
