Where to Stay in Berlin - Mövenpick Hotel Berlin

Established in 1948 by Swiss founder Ueli Prager, the Mövenpick group has had a wide variety of business ventures since - Fast food restaurants, an ice-cream company, and, in 1973, the formation of their Hotel Group in Zurich.

A few years later, the hotel chain went international and opened up locations in Cairo, Germany, and the Middle East.

While visiting Berlin this summer, we had the pleasure of checking into the city’s Mövenpick Hotel for ourselves… and it did not disappoint.

About Mövenpick Hotel Berlin

Conveniently located just 25 minutes from Berlin Tegel Airport, and a short walk away from Potsdamer Platz metro station, the modern Mövenpick Hotel Berlin is both convenient and comfortable.

We loved exploring Berlin and having such a cozy home away from home to return to each day for some much needed R&R.

Free Breakfast Buffet

You know what they say… Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Begin your day with a coffee, a glass of fresh juice, and an all you can eat buffet breakfast in the Mövenpick Hotel Berlin’s popular glass-roofed restaurant.

If you’re lucky and the weather is nice, they may open the glass roof. Sun pours into the room already, but the cool breeze that came in once the roof was opened made it that much better.

It was the perfect place to start a day of adventures around the city.

Come back in the evening to grab a drank in the restaurant’s adjoining bar!

Concierge

Chocolate Hour!

Yes - You read that right. CHOCOLATE. HOUR.

The Swiss are known for their chocolate, so I guess it’s only right that the Mövenpick honor its roots with a daily chocolate hour each afternoon.

Be sure to head to the hotel lobby during this time to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Fitness Center + Sauna

If you eat too much at chocolate hour, you can always head to the hotel’s fitness center and sauna to burn off the calories.

I didn’t… but it’s always nice to have the option!

Room Options

The Mövenpick Hotel Berlin is definitely one of the larger hotels I’ve stayed at recently. With 243 rooms and suites to choose from, every solo traveller, couple, and family will surely find something to suit their needs.

We stayed in one of the Mövenpick Hotel’s 13 Deluxe Rooms and had everything we needed and more.

Deluxe rooms range between 23 to 37 square meters each and feature high ceilings, courtyard views, and a king or queen size bed.

Though I had a veryyyy comfortable nap in our king sized bed shortly after our arrival, my favorite part of the Deluxe room by far was the freestanding bathtub. A bath and a glass of champagne was the perfect way to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing. (Not pictured - us having a hilarious time pressing the camera’s timer button… I’ve seriously gotta get a remote).
