Where to Stay in Kuala Lumpur - Traders Hotel

LAZY DAYS AT TRADERS HOTEL, KUALA LUMPUR
Kuala Lumpur was the last stop on my back packing trip around Asia... and I guess you could say I decided to go out with a bit of a bang.
This hotel, located right beside KLCC park, boasts incredible views of the Petronas Towers. With great amenities, a central location, and a great price, for me, it was a no brainer. As if all that isn't enough, Traders Hotel is also located in the same building as one of the most famous rooftop pool bars in the city... making it even more of a no brainer...
Kuala Lumpur was the last stop on my two month back packing trip around Asia... and I guess you could say I decided to go out with a bit of a bang.
When looking for a hotel in the city, one in particular caught my eye.
It had great amenities, was located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and (here's the best part)... was extremely affordable given it's proximity to (and incredible view of) the famous Petronas Towers.
Though I normally go for more affordable (backpacker-friendly) accommodations, as I never spend time in the room anyway, I decided to splurge a little on the last leg of my trip... and I'm really glad I did... because, during my time in Kuala Lumpur, it rained... a lot.
The Traders Hotel by Shangri-La was so nice that I didn't mind being trapped inside because of bad weather at all. It was nice to get some R&R before my long-haul journey back to the states, and, after the marathon of travelling I'd been doing all spring, there was no better place for it... I'm talkin' brunches... bathrobes... the whole nine yards. It was great.
Not only was The Traders Hotel located directly across from the Petronas Twin Towers (and beside the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center Park), but, one of the cities most famous rooftop bars was also in the same building. SkyBar, an upscale bar featuring a pool and killer views was conveniently located on the 33rd floor... and hotel guests received drink vouchers. This made for an extremely easy and slightly less expensive "night out."
The hotel staff was extremely friendly, the food was delicious, the views were out of this world, and, when I left, I felt so well rested and ready to make the journey home to the states. All in all, it was an awesome place to stay in Kuala Lumpur, and a great place to end my Southeast Asia trip.
